Eating’s not a bad way to get to know a place.
One of the most beloved Santa Fe meeting and eating places since 1948, The Pantry Restaurant is the real deal, the kind of authentic roadside diner that others try to copy. Offering you tons of good home cooking for not a lot of money, the online reviews are terrific: “. . .the best carne adovada in Santa Fe and Albuquerque,” “…will blow your mind. . .” or “the best red chile in the world. . .yes, in the WORLD,” and “I just wish so many people didn’t know about this place.” Patrons in the busy dining room are often joyful, rubber-necking to see everyone else’s dish, and very few are able to finish, thanks to the generous portions.
Owned by the friendly and “Santa Femous” Singley family, The Pantry boasts a cheerful and attentive staff. They want you to eat well, no doubt about it. Because both the red and green chiles are delicious, ask for Christmas when you try the combination plate – you’ll get a bit of everything, and everything is good! Or try the Frito pie, a New Mexico classic that is placed on its proper pedestal here. The club sandwich could be the best you’ve ever had. And guess what – you can enjoy wine or beer with your stuffed pancakes!
If you want a hearty bite to eat, come to The Pantry. No need to think beyond that. It’s a Santa Fe throwback diner experience – no, wait, it’s a Santa Fe experience! If you are here for a week, you could easily come here five times. Anything you get here will leave you beyond satisfied. It’s easy to find, 1820 Cerillos Rd. Phone them at 505-986-0022, and look them up on their website. Both impressive and affordable, The Pantry Restaurant is a superb combination!
