Santa Fe’s newest happy hour is at Derailed at the Sage Inn on Cerrillos Road and Guadalupe at Don Diego. Derailed is a beautifully renovated full service restaurant and bar, conveniently located on the edge of the burgeoning Railyard District.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a railroad theme and a cozy fireplace. In summer, the portal and patio offer fresh, outdoor drinking and dining. There are a handful of TVs so you won’t miss that important game. During the generous happy hour, from 3-6pm 7 days a week, you can order a house margarita or a glass of house wine for $5, or a draft beer or well drink for $4, with all food 15% off. The house margarita is fresh and crisp, and the selection of beer and wine is nicely varied in style.
Derailed offers a nice collection of specialty drinks that will simply wow you. Of special note is the Wigwag made with locally crafted Wheeler’s Gin, sage syrup, fresh lemon juice, and an egg white for a little froth. Margaritas also feature prominently with their own section of the menu. There’s a margarita for everyone, whether you are a silver tequila fan, or gold, or like your margaritas classically simple or all fancified.
The food is simple and unfussy with a few unconventional options. A must try are the pork belly nachos with light crisp tortilla chips, guacamole, braised pork belly, black beans, cheese, jalapenos, and their house made salsa. If you’re on a quest to try every green chile cheeseburger in Santa Fe, Derailed has one for you to add to the list! The Guadalupe Green Chile Cheeseburger is made of Angus beef with Hatch green chile, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and jalapeno relish served on a brioche bun.
Don’t forget Daydra’s Homemade Biscochitos for dessert!
Derailed opens at 3:00pm daily, with the Happy Hour until 6:00pm, and they stay open until 10:00pm 7-days a week for drinks and dining.
