The pueblo makes much of the silver jewelry sold under the portal at the Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe. The art of making “liquid silver” was developed at Santo Domingo and there are many shops in the Pueblo selling a wide variety of silver and turquoise jewelry.
This pueblo on the banks of the Rio Grande also specializes in heishe (shell) necklaces.
The Pueblo houses a Culural Center and Market. Nearby is the somewhat famous Santo Domingo Trading Post.
Call for Information on the Corn Dance in early August. |
