Altitude Sickness Prevention
Ascend attitudes slowly to allow your body to adjust.
In general rest for 24 hours when traveling to 9000
feet; 48 hour when traveling to or above 12,000 feet
Avoid vigorous exercise until you have acclimated
Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol
Sleep below 8,000 feet to avoid sleep disturbances
Check with your doctor if you have any chronic illness,
particularly respiratory problems that might be
affected by high attitudes |
