22 miles from Santa Fe (US 285/84 North, to Los Alamos turnoff, NM 502. Follow 502 and turn right on NM 30, shortly after you see the sign for Puye on your left, you will see the sign for the Pueblo on your right)

This pueblo with a population of 2500 on 45,000 acres is the site of the Puye Cliff Dwellings at the entrance of the Santa Clara Canyon.
Pueblo residents are descended from the cliff dwellers.
Ribbon shirts, pottery and jewelry are available in the Pueblo’s shops and artist studios. The black and red pottery iis nationally and internationally prized.
The pueblo Feast Day is August 12. Corn dances are performed.
On the economic development side, the Santa Clara Pueblo has built a stadium seating multiplex theater complex on highway 285 about 2 miles south of Espanola. |
