The Fourth of July in Santa Fe is synonymous with pancakes, served up with bacon, orange juice and coffee. That’s because each year, the Santa Fe United Way sets up cooking operations downtown on the historic Plaza, where hundreds of volunteers serve thousands of hungry eaters platefuls of fresh cooked pancakes as dancers, musicians and singers perform on the Plaza Bandstand.
The day’s festivities include a cool car show, art and craft vendors and plenty of live entertainment. The event brings out the locals, who get to visit with family and friends and celebrate the holiday, which culminates with an evening fireworks show at the Santa Fe High School.
